CSP POWER PLANT ILANGA 1

Parabolic trough power plant Ilanga 1, Upington, North Cape, South Africa.

Ilanga 1 is a 100 MWel solar thermal power plant with parabolic troughs as collector technology. A salt storage system with 1'250 MWth (corresponds to about five hours) enables electricity to be produced even after sunset. Ilanga 1 can supply electricity to over 86'000 households.

In this project, enolcon supported the project developer from development to financial close. Together with the owner engineer enolcon created the technical specification and the management contract.
