DR. GÜNTER SCHNEIDER

Dr. Günter Schneider is Managing Director and shareholder of the company enolcon.

Dr. Schneider has been working for 30 years in this field of energy management and power plant technology at home and abroad and in various fields from it 23 years in leading positions as Managing Director.
While working as a student participating on repairing a 10MWel-steam turbine Dr. Schneider developed passionate enthusiasm for power generation and process engineering.

After finishing his studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University in Stuttgart he started his career as a power plant engineer at the Power Utility “Energie-Versorgung Schwaben AG” (EVS, now EnBW). At EnBW he realised a multitude of projects, several projects were carried out in the coal fired power station in Heilbronn (engineering DENOX – catalyst-in-situ-regeneration technique, sewage sludge combustion, modification of sedimentation tank REA ). Projects in the field of waste incineration plants have been part of his activities as well (waste incineration plants/projects in Göppingen, Böblingen, Esslingen, Tessin).

His doctoral dissertation “Life-time prognosis of SCR catalysts” combines successfully latest application possibilities to neuronal networks with conventional power station technology.

Within the framework of the growth strategy of the former EVS he was sent to South East Asia in 1998 - 1999 as Representative and Project manager. The valuation of IPP and SPP power station projects as well as the current processing (commercial, technical, legal) were his main tasks (Laos, Thailand). The successful participation of EVS in Amata Power Thailand was one of his activities in South East Asia.

From 1998 to 2002 Dr. Schneider was working for the German part of the finnish power utility Fortum. One of his bigger projects was the 120MWel CCGT-CHP-power prpoject at Wacker-Chemie in Burghausen. As Project manager and Managing Director he was responsible for all phases of the project, development of technical concept, arranging contracts, construction and comissioning of the later successful operation of the power plant. Later on as Managing Director of Fortum Energie GmbH and member of the German Fortum Executive Commitee he was in charge of Fortum Energie GmbH together with his colleagues until summer 2002 when Fortum Energie GmbH has been sold to E.ON Energie AG.

From 2003 until 2006 his extensive knowledge in international EPC-business was enlarged as he was working in various projects in challenging frame conditions (for example CCGT (gas and steam) projects in Syria, copper material handling plants in Chile etc.) for the company KOCH Transporttechnik GmbH (belongs now to FLSmidth).

From middle of 2006 until August 2008 Dr. Schneider was speaker of the Board of Directors of M+W Zander Facility Engineering GmbH, responsible for the European activities in the facility engineering field of M+W Zander. M+W Zander (now M+W Group) is an EPC-constructor for high-tech manufacturing production facilities in the field of semiconductor, Photovoltaic, Energy, Flat Panel, Nanotechnology and Data Center. Together with his colleagues of Managing Directors and a strong M+W Zander team they succeeded in a competitive area in the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 with record turnovers and profit results.

After a change of ownership of M+W Zander Dr. Schneider left and founded together with Dr. Maier the company enolcon gmbh in September 2008.
